The two-story building is the centerpiece of the track’s interactive fan zone that connects the infield entrance to the pit area. The secured-entry structure also houses a limited-access fan seating area where driver meetings and interviews can be viewed through a protective glass wall. The adjacent 150-person gathering area includes seating, camera platforms, stage lighting and a media platform to conduct and tape driver interviews and other meetings. This space allows reporters access to all live feeds occurring throughout the track via 225 stations with audio-visual controls, data lines, wireless connections and a ready view of the many monitors throughout the room. Other spaces include acoustically sensitive private interview rooms, a buffet/kitchen to serve the press, fan-accessible restrooms, private restrooms and temporary offices for track staff. This project was performed under a strict deadline for a televised event.
